The Housatonic Museum of Art in downtown Bridgeport houses over 7,000 works ranging from ancient to contemporary.
The museum was founded in the 1960s, and remains one of the largest art collections of any community college in the country.
The museum contains two main exhibitions. "The Practice of Democracy: A View from Connecticut" explores the history of land use and community development throughout the state’s history.
The second exhibit, the Bridgeport Portrait project, covers cultural heritage through photography and storytelling.
