Rotary Southern Connecticut organizes relief effort for victims of Hurricane Helene

A local organization is leading a hurricane relief effort for victims of Hurricane Helene.
Rotary Southern Connecticut is organizing a massive relief effort specifically for Asheville, North Carolina.
The Stop and Shop in Westport on Post Road East is one of the locations around the state where you can donate Tuesday.
The following items are being collected Tuesday and loaded on trucks by 2:30:
1. Canned or packaged food with a long shelf life (especially cases of Ramen, Pasta, and Rice)
2. Paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, baby diapers)
3. Small generators (if available)
4. Animal feed (horse, goat, and chicken feed)
5. Pet food and cat litter
6. Water (low priority)
Once all items are collected, the trucks will be driven directly from Connecticut to Asheville, North Carolina.
They are also collected at the Stop and Shop on CT Avenue in Norwalk and Connecticut Engravers in Milford.
