Residents in Bridgeport living near Sacred Heart University are calling on officials to once and for all put an end to the havoc they say students are causing in the area.
Residents say the value of their homes has dramatically decreased due to the behavior of students living on and off campus. They say students often illegally park, litter and urinate outside homes.
The residents have snapped photos to show university officials, who they say have become more responsive to their complaints but still need to do more.
Mayoral candidate Enrique Torres says the school needs to hold students more accountable. Torres' opponent, Joe Ganim, says he filed a lawsuit when he was mayor to stop dorm construction.
School officials say they have spent years cementing positive relationships with the community, adding that they are open to finding workable solutions for everyone involved.
