Students at Sacred Heart University say they are on edge Sunday as police are looking for a man who assaulted a student.

Authorities say a girl was walking to her apartment when a man jumped out of his car and tried to force her in. Campus officials say she was able to escape and call for help. Officials say the victim is OK and was not seriously hurt.

The university's Public Safety officers sent out e-mails warning students to be on the look out and take precautions. Officers warned students to not walk alone, and if they are alone to call campus security.

Campus police say they are working with Bridgeport police on this case and both are increasing patrols around the area.
