Selling things online can be risky if you don't take the right precautions.
That's why police in Redding have installed a new "Safe Exchange Zone" in their parking lot for exactly such situations.
The spot is under surveillance and monitored by officers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Police say they recognize the growing need for safe places where residents feel more comfortable meeting to exchange items purchased online, or for any other exchange.
They cautioned that there is limited space in the parking lot and are asking those using the new zone to not block traffic when doing so.
