Stamford high school will host its graduation Friday, but a last-minute schedule change dampened the celebrations.
When school officials got word of rain and thunderstorms Thursday, they postponed the ceremonies. That sent many seniors protesting the decision because officials also changed the venue. Instead of commencement being held outdoors it's now in the gym, which means a limited number of guests. The school district released a statement saying, "The decision was made because of thunder and lightning in the forecast. It is awful to have to cancel it, but people knew from the beginning there was a rain date."
