Michael Lucifora, of St. Joseph High School in Trumbull, is this week's News 12 Connecticut Scholar Athlete presented by Colonial Toyota.
The Stratford native helps anchor the Hogs' defensive line and he's also a role model in the classroom. Lucifora is a student ambassador, a member of the multicultural club and one of the handful of St. Joe's seniors picked each year in charge of running school pep rallies and leading the student section at sports games.
"When you're in high school, you're called a student-athlete and something my coaches always hit on is that the student part comes first. So, you have to remember to be a good person in the classes as well as a great athlete on the field," Lucifora says.
