School officials: Person found dead in New Canaan woods was a student from Westhill High School

Perez was going to become a senior at Westhill High School during the fall, according to a statement shared by Stamford Public Schools.

The missing person found dead and identified by New Canaan police was a student at Westhill High School in Stamford, according to school officials.

Santos Eujedo Perez, of Stamford, was identified by police on Wednesday.

Perez was going to become a senior at Westhill High School during the fall, according to a statement shared by Stamford Public Schools.

Perez was reported missing on Monday night and was last seen working at a house that is under construction.

Police have not released his age or the cause of death.

Stamford Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Tamu Lucero released the following statement:

"Everyone associated with Stamford Public Schools is devastated by the passing of Santos Perez, who would have been a senior at Westhill High School in the fall. Losing a child is every family's worst nightmare, and we are heartbroken for Santos’ parents, family, and friends. We extend our deepest condolences to the Perez family as well as all those who knew and loved Santos, including his Westhill teachers and classmates."
