Sen. Blumenthal calls for US humanitarian assistance for India COVID crisis

Sen. Richard Blumenthal is urging U.S. humanitarian assistance in India to help address the COVID-19 crisis sweeping the country.
Blumenthal will join community leaders at the Hindu temple in Middletown today to advocate the need for medical supplies and aid.
They'll be calling for funding to help purchase PPE, oxygen, ventilators, and other medical supplies.
Stamford-based Americares crews were deployed to India recently to help.
They're working with hospitals in the states with the highest infection rates-- bringing in more oxygen, ICU beds and PPE for staff.
