Sen. Richard Blumenthal said this weekend that he sent a letter to the U.S. Army regarding its decision to deny its next major helicopter contract to Sikorsky.
The letter was signed by every member of the Connecticut delegation to Congress.
"We are demanding in this letter to the Army why it disqualified Sikorsky from its bid on this contract because we understand it may have been for technical reasons -- but it's bad for taxpayers because Sikorsky's product is lower in cost and better in quality,” Sen. Blumenthal said.
Sen. Blumenthal said the Army has a legal obligation to provide an explanation.
