Sen. Blumenthal, health officials urge Congress to keep COVID testing free amid uptick in cases

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have indicated that COVID cases are slightly on the rise this summer.

Health officials and Sen. Richard Blumenthal are urging Congress to keep COVID-19 testing free.
They were at the Charter Oak Health Center Monday to demand no-cost tests for those in need.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have indicated that COVID cases are slightly on the rise this summer.
The Charter Oak Health Center president says they have seen an increase in positive tests jump from 13% in June to 18% in July.
"The resurgence of COVID-19 in our country demands swift action and collaborative efforts. We stand united in our mission to keep testing free and readily available to everyone in need," Nichelle Mullins, president of Charter Oak Health Center, says.
According to CDC COVID data, cases and hospitalizations in Connecticut remain at low levels.
