Sen. Richard Blumenthal highlighted the success of the PACT Act law on Wednesday at the Connecticut State Veterans Memorial Park in Hartford.
The law delivers relief to veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange and other toxic substances.
It also aims to correct the nearly 80% rejection rate faced by burn pit veterans seeking claims.
"Hazardous chemicals, waste, other kinds of potentially damaging substances, they're all covered now by the PACT Act as result of this expansion in benefits and coverage,” said Blumenthal.
The PACT Act was sponsored by Blumenthal and signed into Law by the Biden Administration in August 2022.
Last week, the Biden administration announced that one million PACT Act claims have been approved and benefits have been delivered to veterans in all 50 states.
