A Bridgeport charity was honored Saturday for its efforts to help hundreds of people struggling with the effects of serious illness and injury.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal recognized Amy's Angels, which was founded by Bob Fiondella.
The charity has given away more than $400,000 over the past year, helping people struggling with pandemic-related hardships.
The charity holding it's annual fundraising gala at the Riverview in Simsbury on Nov. 20.
There will also be a holiday boutique fundraiser at the Farmington Club on Nov. 18 and Nov. 19.
