Sen. Richard Blumenthal has promised bipartisan support for Israel in the newly ignited war between the country and Hamas.
Israel's military ordered a complete siege on the Gaza Strip on Monday, halting deliveries of food, water, fuel and supplies to its 2.3 million people as it pounded the Hamas-ruled territory with waves of airstrikes in retaliation for the militants' bloody weekend incursion.
"I will be joining in a bipartisan effort to provide not only replenishment for the Iron Dome supply but also other munitions and medical supplies, says Blumenthal. "It will be bipartisan because support for Israel should be bipartisan especially in this moment of extraordinary crisis."
The hostilities so far have killed around 700 people in Israel and 493 people in Gaza.
