Sen. Richard Blumenthal visited restaurants around Connecticut Sunday as he pushes colleagues in Congress to replenish the federal restaurant fund.
He says restaurants are closing at a faster rate than any other small business in the wake of the pandemic.
Blumenthal met with the owner of Metric Bar & Grill in downtown Bridgeport. He says he's working with senators from both parties to push for more federal funding for restaurants.
He says he hopes there will be a vote on the matter within the next couple of weeks.
