Sen. Richard Blumenthal says a
federal watchdog effort to stop voter suppression is in high gear ahead of
Election Day.
He says anti-voting tactics are desperate and brazen, but will meet with a ruthless
enforcement campaign by government officials whose job it is to keep the
process honest.
Blumenthal says
barriers to the ballot box are motivated by politics, and the integrity of the
voting process should never be tainted political tampering.
He pledged to
watch the voting process personally and call out anybody attempting to promote
the disenfranchisement of voting blocs, which he says undermines freedom in the
most fundamental level.
