Sen. Richard Blumenthal will be in Stamford to talk about ways the city is expanding the vaccine to vulnerable communities.
Sen. Blumenthal and Mayor David Martin will join both Americares and Stamford Health officials Friday at Americares' health clinic on Shippan Avenue.
Americares serves around 3,000 low-income and uninsured patients each year at its free health clinics across the state.
Staff say the number of people they serve has gone up during the pandemic.
Officials from Americares and Stamford Health are expected to talk about the importance of getting the low-income and uninsured population vaccinated and how they're partnering with the city to accomplish that.
On Monday, Stamford Health is opening a mass vaccination site in the Harbor Point section of the city.
Stamford Health already operates one at the Wheeler Building at Stamford Hospital.
There is also a drive-thru vaccination site in the Lord and Taylor Parking lot run by Community Health Center.
