Sen. Chris Murphy and Rep. Jim Himes have joined fellow Democrats calling for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's resignation after he texted potentially classified details about Yemen military strikes in a group chat.

The chat, set up by National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, mistakenly included The Atlantic's editor-in-chief.

"I think it's by the awesome grace of God that we are not mourning dead pilots right now," Himes said in Washington Wednesday.

Hegseth claims the information was not classified.
