The town of Fairfield celebrated Fairfield American Little League Wednesday.

After winning the state championship over the weekend, the 13U 50/70 Intermediate Team will be playing in the East Regional Tournament in Delaware.

Before the group headed to Delaware, a send-off was held at Mill Hill Field Wednesday morning.It included an escort by Fairfield's police and fire departments to I-95.

The players are the oldest in the league.Many of them have been on the same team since they were toddlers. They say making it this far together is special.

The team will play the Rising Sun from Maryland Thursday morning.
