Connecticut's U.S. Sens. Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal received their first doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday.
Murphy says the vaccine is safe and urges residents to the shot once it is available to them.
Blumenthal also encouraged residents to do the same to keep the community safe.
“A vaccine does more than protect the person receiving it— they protect our health care system from being overburdened, protect others in our community from getting sick and protect our small businesses form further uncertainty,” he wrote in a tweet.
