Stratford, Fairfield and Lake Mohegan have closed the beaches to swimmers because excessive rain has caused high levels of bacteria in the water.

Stratford beaches and Lake Mohegan is Fairfield remain closed to swimmers today because excessive rain has caused high levels of bacteria in the water, officials say.
Fairfield Parks and Recreation officials say the splash pad at Fairfield's Lake Mohegan is open.
Fairfield beaches are also open and swimming is allowed as normal.
