Severe thunderstorms tore through Connecticut Thursday, bringing strong winds and spurring a tornado warning. No touchdowns have been reported though.
As of 10 p.m. Thursday, 28,091 Eversource customers and 18,544 United Illuminating customers were without power. Gov. Ned Lamont says he has activated the National Guard to assist with power restoration.
A tree fell on top of a car in Westport with a person inside. No injuries were reported.
Large hail came down with the rain in Norwalk.
Friday will see mostly sunny with highs near 88 degrees. There is a chance of a thunderstorm.
Friday night will see scattered thundershowers with temps around 74 degrees.
