News 12 meteorologists are tracking storms that are moving across western Connecticut Sunday.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Connecticut through 8 p.m. Sunday.
A severe thunderstorm warning was also issued for parts of Fairfield and New Haven counties through 6 p.m., but has since expired.
Some storm cells began popping up across the region this afternoon. They were bringing the chance of damaging, gusty winds, downpours, small hail and lightning.

Photos and videos shared on social media from around western Connecticut showed torrential downpours as some of the storms swept through.
Conditions were expected to dry out after sunset, with clear skies overnight.
