State officials have lifted a ban on shell-fishing off the coast of Bridgeport that was implemented after a massive fire last month.
The fire sparked on Sept. 11 at a warehouse on Seaview Avenue that contained hundreds of drums of chemicals.
The fire enabled chemicals to leak into nearby waterways, prompting environmental officials to ban shellfishing as a precaution.
State officials say the newest water samples showed no signs of the chemicals that were initially detected.
