The shelter in place at Walter
Fitzgerald Campus has been lifted following reports of a handgun possibly being in the
school, officials say.
They say that a student told school
officials they were the victim of an altercation on Wednesday, which took place
on the grounds during school hours. The student said that they thought the
other student involved may have been in possession of a handgun at the time.
The school was searched for weapons
Thursday, but police say nothing was found. They also say that they couldn't
verify if the other student had a gun at the time of the incident.
Police issued a juvenile summons to
a 17-year-old for second-degree breach of peace.
