A Shelton family will make their return to "Shark Tank" Friday night on a special holiday episode.
The Naqvi family will appear to the show for the second time, this time with a company started by two of the kids.
Ayaan Navqi, 13, originally came up with Ornament Anchor for his school's invention convention back when he was in fourth grade.
"Ornament Anchor is a simple easy way to keep your ornaments safe on your Christmas tree," said Ayaan. "I saw my dog — she hit all of our ornaments down, so I thought there has to be a solution - because regular hooks and ribbons they just, they can easily fall off."
Ayaan's invention was a hit at the convention.
A couple of years later, his older brother Mika'il suggested they turn it into an actual business.
"As an entrepreneur, I couldn't have been more proud to be honest with you," said mom Amanda Naqvi.
Ornament Anchor launched in 2019 and has taken off.
They are sold in Target, Dillards and Bed Bath and Beyond. They sold out on QVC in August.
As it's grown, mom Amanda Naqvi and dad Hamza Naqvi have stepped in more. Little sister Sofia is also part of the family company, too.
As for the pet who inspired Ornament Anchor, she's also inspired the boys to give back.
"Ever since I was really little, I've always had a passion for animals. That's always been something I've been very interested in," said Ayaan.
"The boys decided when they first started to donate 10% of their proceeds to North Shore Animal League America where we got our dog Zara from," said Amanda Navqi.
Last year, the family donated $20,000. They are hoping to double that number after their appearance on "Shark Tank," which they recorded in July.
The Naqvi family's episode airs Friday at 8 p.m. on ABC. The family first appeared on "Shark Tank" in 2019 for the product Kudo Banz invented by Hamza and Amanda Navqi. News 12 is told with the upcoming episode, Mika’il, Ayaan and Sofia are the first kids to ever go back on the show.
