Athletes in Stamford came together Saturday for the Shoot 4 Change event at the Stamford Boys and Girls Club.
The panel discussion and basketball tournament were held to honor those who have been killed in shootings. Organizers aimed to bring awareness and hopefully help prevent future tragedies.
This event falls on the 20th anniversary of the Columbine massacre, but it also happens to be the anniversary of a more local tragedy.
Young Athletes 4 Change founder Will Joseph lost his brother, Max Antoine, in a shooting on McLeevy Green two years ago.
"It's been a tough two years but it's been a lot of great things that have been happening," Joseph said.
Young Athletes 4 Change will host a celebrity basketball game in the Bronx on July 7.
