Today marks the first Sunday that Connecticut stores can sell alcohol since Gov. Dannel Malloy repealed the state?s Blue Laws.

Stew Leonard?s Wines in Norwalk was busy soon after opening Sunday morning. Manager Doug Zucker says Sunday sales benefit both customers and employees. For customers it?s a matter of convenience. His employees meanwhile, rack up time-and-a-half.

"There have been many occasions [where] I had to drive to New York to buy alcohol on Sunday when stores have been closed,? Alyssa Hardie, of Norwalk, says. ?So, it's a big convenience for the consumer."

Connecticut was the 49th state to legalize Sunday sales.
