Mourners held a memorial service in Stamford Saturday for a woman whose body was found stuffed in a bag over Labor Day weekend.
Relatives and friends at the First United Methodist Church service remember Noel Senerchia, 21, as a kind-hearted woman. Elizabeth Searles says her daughter was so giving that she brought home stray people, not pets. Mourners hope her memory lives on long after her tragic death. Senerchia, of Darien, was found in a Rowayton swamp in September. She leaves behind three children and was reportedly living on the streets at the time of her death.
Authorities have named her longtime boyfriend, 29-year-old Michael Walsh of Norwalk, a person of interest. Investigators searched his home, but say they found no evidence linking him to the crime. Walsh, who is a convicted sex offender, was arrested in October for not confirming his address to state police for the sex offender registry.
