SNAP recipients will get their full benefits as early as this weekend after the USDA released a memo Friday saying the federal government will fully fund the program.

The memo was released hours after Gov. Ned Lamont said Friday he authorized the state to fully fund SNAP for November using surplus money.

He says this will cost the state $72 million a month.

Lamont also says he was tired of waiting on Washington.

"Just the constant back-and-forth. I thought we were going to have it fully funded three days ago. I thought the court said you're going to get partial funding. They can't make up their mind. We've made up our mind. We're going to take care of the people on SNAP," he says.

The Trump administration was ordered on Thursday to fully fund SNAP during the government shutdown.
