A snow emergency has been issued in Bridgeport due to the incoming winter storm that is expected to drop up to 8 inches of snow.
The city is prohibiting residents from parking on streets that are designated as snow emergency routes.
The routes are clearly marked throughout the city with white-colored signs with red-colored letters.
Alternate side parking will be in effect.
Officials say because it's an even numbered day, residents can park on the even numbered side of the street.
Free parking is also available at Central and Bassick high schools.
Residents who don't comply with the parking ban during the storm could be ticketed and towed. The fine is no less than $130
The city is also asking residents to clear their sidewalks and fire hydrants so firefighters can access them quickly in case of an emergency.
