Bridgeport officials are urging residents to stay off the roads following the first significant snowstorm in the region.
They say much of the snow in the city is expected to freeze as temperatures continue to fall.
Mayor Joe Ganim says residents should stay indoors as crews work to clean up the roads before tomorrow's commute.
"Let's get through today, let's be prepared for Monday morning for the rush hour…That's our job. Our crews are out there doing it, give them the deference. They'll get the job done," he says.
Ganim says the city's emergency response team are on standby to handle any incidents that may arise.
