Some seniors and commuters in Stamford say they want a set of bus benches back after they were removed from a pair of shelters near Old Town Hall off Atlantic on Main to keep people from misusing the space.
The Stamford Transit District made the change aiming to limit loitering and drug use in the area.
Most of the commuters News 12 spoke with say they miss having the benches, especially on a hot day Tuesday.
They say for seniors it's especially uncomfortable and they think there were other ways of dealing people who used the area to do drugs.
One woman told News 12 she likes the change and feels more comfortable waiting for the bus.
News 12 reached out to Downtown Stamford but has not heard back.
