The son of a former Fairfield resident been killed in a domestic violence incident has started an online fundraising campaign to help assist with the funeral expenses.
Dawn Meade, 40, was found dead after a hit-and-run Friday in Virginia.
Her boyfriend, Gregory P. Veres, 30, has been charged with her murder.
The campaign, started by her son, Joseph Muratori, has raised almost $18,000, with the goal to bring her home and bury her in Connecticut.
