A Southbury man is accused of killing a bear in his backyard.
Police say Joshua Gendron spotted a bear in his yard Thursday. According to police, Gendron tried to scare the bear away by firing his pistol. When the bear didn't leave, police say Gendron shot the bear.
Gendron is facing charges of carrying a pistol without a permit and illegal taking of a bear.
