Southern Connecticut Gas wants people in Milford to know employees will do walking inspections throughout the city during the month of August.
SCG says employees will check the lines between the street and homes.
It says customers can call the company to verify whether someone is a gas company employee and is supposed to be there.
SCG adds all employees will carry identification and residents can ask to see it before allowing them into homes.
