Mild temperatures have led to many southwestern Connecticut drivers cruising when mechanics say they should be kicking car winterizing into gear.
Mechanics say it?s better to perform the maintainence now than wait until the mercury dips. They advise car owners to check tire pressure and replace old windshield wipers, belts and hoses. Mechanics say cars should also be checked to ensure they have the correct type of antifreeze for cold weather.
Experts say drivers can avoid major problems by using a dry gas additive in their gas tank. The additive stops moisture from freezing in the fuel line.
