It's a spot in Suffolk County where you can spend the entire
day with activities, relaxation and great food.
The Marina sets the scene with dozens of docked boats. But
the most spectacular one in the water is the Lauren Kristy -- a 65-foot
riverboat you can take for a lunch, dinner, or private cruise of your choice.
If you love good food, there are so many options. Fat Fish
has some of the best seafood and has a great view of the Fire Island Lighthouse.
Nicky's on the Bay features wide open outdoor seating on two
levels. Many nights feature a band on the top deck -- as you watch the Fire
Island ferries go by.
The newest spot on the block is LaLa's Lounge. A seaside
restaurant with a west coast flare. You can even play pool right on the patio.
If you like to catch what you eat - lots of Long Islanders fish right by the pilings of the Marina.
And what's a hot spot in the summertime -- without somewhere
for the kids to cool down? Shipwreck Cove Spray Park features slides,
sprinklers and a shallow pool.
But, if sitting by the dock of the bay is your thing -- you
could spend hours on one of the benches looking out to the Great South Bay.
