Youth activists in Stamford met with community and corporate partners to discuss ways to stem gun violence and provide at-risk youth jobs.
The Urban Youth Empowerment Program says it is seeking ways to help at-risk high school dropouts who may have a criminal records find jobs.
The group says it is providing youth financial and life skills training and giving them a national recognized certification that will hopefully help them get an internship or job.
Group officials say the youth training program has room for 25 kids and will last about a year.
