Stamford's mayor announced today the city wants to shut down a struggling nursing home.
Mayor David Martin says the Smith House Nursing Home is losing too much money.
He says the facility lost $6 million during the last fiscal year, and he says the numbers look even worse this year.
Smith House is home to 108 patients and has 95 full-time and other part-time employees.
The state must approve the plan to shut down the facility.
