A bomb scare that tied up the Friday morning commute in Stamford turned out to be nothing more than three pieces of cinder block wrapped in fabric.A construction supervisor found the suspicious package at a site on Tresser Boulevard near the Stamford Town Center Mall and called police around 8 a.m. Officers closed down all surrounding streets and brought the bomb squad to investigate. The mall and nearby buildings were not evacuated. Roads were not opened until 11 a.m.Police say the cinder blocks? placement raised concern. Authorities are investigating and say there is a possibility of criminal charges if a suspect is found.
