Stamford car crash sends 3 people to hospital

Police say a driver who ran a red light in Stamford caused a crash that sent three people to the hospital.

They say it happened near Long Ridge Road at Wire Mill Road around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers say the three people had to be extricated from their vehicles - two from the car that was sitting at the traffic light and the one operator that caused the crash.

They say the injured were taken to Stamford hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Police say the driver who ran the red light was issued a summons for reckless operation.
