Route 106 between Weed Street and Lapham Road reopened Wednesday after it was force to close due to a water main break that happened Tuesday, New Canaan’s Office of Emergency Management says.

The road, also known, as Old Stamford Road, opened just after 7:30 p.m.

Aquarion Water Company said the water main break was repaired early Wednesday morning.

The break impacted a heavily traveled area in town near Merritt Parkway ramps and the Talmadge Hill train station and disrupted commutes Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
