Bagpipes, helicopters, K-9 units and horses filled downtown Stamford Monday to mark the beginning of Police Memorial Week.
More than 30 area departments marched to Stamford Police Headquarters to honor those killed in the line of duty. The ceremony began with a prayer, and then Stamford resident Cindy Lauper sang the national anthem.
The Stamford Police Department also unveiled a wall listing the names of all the officers killed in the line of duty.
