In a development to a story covered Tuesday Mar. 24, the walkout planned for today by Stamford High School students was canceled. The walkout was meant to protest the proposed removal of the high school's principal.

SHS Principal, Matthew Forker, sent students an email saying in part:

"As previously stated, the superintendent has yet to make a decision on any administrative moves within Stamford Public Schools, including SHS. I feel very confident that our school community will not be affected by any changes. Therefore, the need to protest does not exist at this time."

Westhill High School held a walkout on their campus on Tuesday to protest the proposed removal of their principal.

This stems from a proposal from Stamford Superintendent Tamu Lucero to make changes to principals at several schools. No explanation has been given for the proposed transitions.
