A Stamford man today was sentenced to 32 years behind bars after pleading guilty to killing an elderly school teacher by slitting her throat.
Harry Gonzalez admitted to killing 75-year-old former Greenwich School teacher Joanne Trautwein at her home in North Stamford in 2005.
Investigators say she was found bound by a phone cord and bleeding from the neck and that a knife was discovered nearby.
Police say Gonzalez had previously worked as a mechanic on Trautwein's car and had ransacked the inside of the home she shared with a friend.
Gonzalez is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence in New Haven for beating a man to death with a baseball bat and will serve this new sentence at the same time.
