Stephen Lasko, of Stamford, and four other friends attended the Trump rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.

“You could tell something wasn't right, and Trump covers up his ear, drops to the floor, Secret Service jumps on top of him, and to be honest, everyone around in front of the stage was just standing there, like what's going on. For about 15 to 20 seconds, nobody knew that Trump was shot, that there was a gun going off, people were just shocked, they were trying to process what's going on." said Lasko.

Lasko says he was no more than 100 feet from former President Donald Trump when gunshots began to ring out.

“Nobody knows if it's still an active shooter, no one knows whose gunshots were first, nobody knows if more are coming. So, you hear people say 'Let's get out of here.'" recalls Lasko, "There was like a brief 20 second pause from the USA chant to people then running."

He says he feels lucky to have not been injured and returned home safely.

"You see, these things happen on TV, but when you're actually at one of them, you can't fully process what's going on." said Lasko.

He says he would like to go back to a rally if there was a 100% guarantee that another terrifying incident like Saturday’s wouldn’t happen again.
