A structural engineer from Stamford will work on One World Trade Center, the memorial building dedicated to the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks.
John Mallozzi came to the United States 38 years ago from Italy and says the attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001 gave him the fullest understanding of the American experience.
He has worked on the design of the memorial building and will help the contractor build it piece by piece. Mallozzi says the new building is specially designed to protect the people inside.
Mallozzi says he is honored to pay a professional tribute to those who died.
