The NAACP?s Stamford chapter is pouring on the pressure for The New York Post and parent company, News Corporation, to fire the Post editor.
A cartoon published in last week?s Post comparing the chimpanzee that attacked a Stamford woman to President Obama sparked a controversy that has prompted many NAACP chapters across the country to send letters to their local FOX affiliates.
?There will be pressure applied to Mr. Murdoch from the NAACP,? said Jack Bryant, of the Stamford NAACP, who hopes FOX affiliates are equally incensed about the cartoon.
News Corporation chairman Rupert Murdoch issued an apology in the Post earlier this week. FOX affiliate?s general manager Richard Grazinao has yet to comment on the situation.
