Stamford nonprofit celebrates Juneteenth with music, food and fun

The nonprofit organization New Neighborhoods hosted its fourth annual Juneteenth celebration at the Friendship House Apartments on Saturday.
The event featured live music, food, and activities for children, including popcorn, cotton candy, and face painting.
"We look forward to celebrating in a positive way and we are glad that we could bring this event to our residents, to our staff, to the whole community. And it's just something that we look forward to doing every year," says Jerome Floyd, Director of Operations, New Neighborhoods Inc. Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.
